Words for Contact

Contact is a word game where one player holds a secret word and the others try to reach it letter by letter, using clues that only a few people can answer. The best words are ones that have plenty of neighbours in the dictionary, so these lists lean on science, history and everyday places.

Rules in short

1. The leader picks a word and says only its first letter out loud.
2. Another player asks a question whose answer is a word starting with those letters, without saying it.
3. If the leader can guess it, they answer and the question fails. If not, they leave it.
4. Another player who knows the answer says contact, they count down and say the word together. If it matches, the leader reveals the next letter.
5. The group wins by finding the full word before the leader runs out of answers.
